Electrical Superintendent
600MW Utility-Scale Solar Project - Colorado, USA
Role Overview
CMC is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to support a renewable energy developer on a proposed utility-scale solar project in Colorado.
The successful consultant will act as the Owner's Representative, overseeing the EPC contractor's electrical construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.
The role will involve working closely with the Construction Manager and wider project delivery team to monitor electrical progress, identify issues and support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee EPC electrical construction activities across the solar project.
Monitor installation of DC collection systems, MV cabling, inverters, transformers and associated electrical infrastructure.
Oversee electrical contractors and ensure compliance with project specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
Monitor electrical construction schedules, milestones and progress against the overall project programme.
Attend site meetings, conduct inspections and provide regular progress reports.
Identify and escalate electrical construction issues, delays and quality concerns.
Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams to ensure construction activities are properly aligned.
Support electrical testing, inspections, commissioning readiness and energisation activities.
Required Experience
Strong electrical construction experience on utility-scale solar projects, ideally 200MW+.
Previous experience as an Electrical Superintendent, Electrical Construction Manager or Owner's Representative.
Good understanding of DC/MV electrical systems, inverters, transformers and solar collection infrastructure.
Experience overseeing EPC contractors and electrical subcontractors on large-scale construction projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety, quality standards and construction best practices.
Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work on-site in Colorado.
